Jake Owen To Make His Debut On The Big Screen


Remember when Jake Owen‘s Life’s Whatcha Make It Tour supporting cast all received tricked out golf carts? That was a good day for everyone. More big news came out over the weekend that Jake Owen may be making his big screen debut on a new movie called “The Friend”.

The movie is said to feature Jason Segel from How I Met Your MotherFifty Shades star Dakota Johnson, and Casey Affleck, who won an Oscar for Manchester by the Sea. The film is currently in production in Fairhope, Alabama and is being directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite (Blackfish) and based on Matthew Teague’s award-winning essay for Esquire, “The Friend: Love is Not a Big Enough Word.” It’s Teague’s true story about his terminally ill wife and the support of his best friend, who moves into their home following her diagnosis. Additional details on the role and film’s release are forthcoming, according to CMT.com.
